New Delhi, June 21 (NationPress) The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Saturday that they have successfully eliminated Saeed Izadi, a prominent figure in the Iranian military and a principal architect behind the Iranian regime’s efforts to annihilate Israel. Reports indicate that Izadi was killed during a focused airstrike carried out by the IDF in the Qom region of Iran.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, the IDF declared, "Saeed Izadi, one of the founders of the Iranian regime’s initiative to eradicate Israel, has been neutralized in a precise IDF operation in Qom. Izadi also held the position of commander for the Palestine Corps of the Quds Force, acting as a crucial liaison between the Iranian regime and Hamas, and was a primary organizer of the October 7 massacre."
The IDF elaborated that Izadi was instrumental in military coordination between high-ranking commanders of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and significant figures within Hamas. He was tasked with directing Iranian financial aid to Hamas for their terrorist operations targeting Israel.
“Throughout the conflict, Izadi led Hamas forces based in Lebanon. Afterward, he was actively engaged in the reconstruction of Hamas' military capabilities and ensuring Hamas maintained dominance over Gaza,” the IDF stated.
In a separate report on June 20, the IDF disclosed the elimination of Ali Saadi Wasfi al-Agha, a senior leader of the Palestinian militant group Mujahideen Brigades, in central Gaza. Al-Agha was the head of the group’s southern Gaza brigades and was set to take over from Assad Abu Sharia, who was killed earlier this month by a collaborative operation involving the IDF and Israel's Shin Bet security agency.
The IDF noted that al-Agha was responsible for multiple assaults on Israeli targets and for recruiting operatives. He also had a role in the burial of Israeli couple Gadi Haggai and Judith Weinstein in Khan Younis, whose remains were recently retrieved by Israeli forces.
Al-Agha was killed in a joint operation while attempting to hide in central Gaza.
In the last week alone, the IDF has reported conducting over 300 strikes throughout the Gaza Strip, targeting militants, weapon storage sites, military infrastructure, anti-tank positions, and sniper outposts.
