The Prime Minister is expected to be greeted with a special classical dance performance at the Alvear Palace Hotel in the Argentine capital, featuring dancers from Argentina.
Ankita Gupta, a member of the Indian community, remarked to IANS, "Today, my heart is brimming with joy that our Prime Minister is visiting us, and words cannot capture this happiness. Ramesh, another community member, expressed, "I am thrilled that our Prime Minister is visiting. I wish him the best in his endeavors and career. He is indeed a remarkable individual, one of the greatest leaders. While I oppose war, India had to respond effectively to Pakistan, and Operation Sindoor has been a resounding success. Terrorism must be addressed as it is against humanity."
Shanti Barnadeth, an Indian-origin citizen from Jharkhand and organizer, stated, "Welcoming PM Modi for the first time was special, and now that he is returning for a second visit, it fills us with joy. His previous visit was different, and this time we believe that the ties between India and Argentina should be further strengthened. We appreciate PM Modi’s efforts for the underprivileged, and we are optimistic about India’s future under his leadership."
Himanshi Bharadwaj, a diaspora member, said, "I am overjoyed to know that he (PM Modi) is coming. This will be my first meeting with him, and I am very excited. I extend my gratitude to the Ambassador and the Indian Embassy in Argentina for this opportunity..."
Auhenya, an Argentine classical dancer, shared, "We will perform Malari, an auspicious piece from the dance traditions of Kathak, Odissi, and Bharatanatyam, meant for welcoming distinguished guests. PM Modi is a truly inspirational leader. His journey from helping his father sell tea to becoming a global leader is incredibly motivating."
Prime Minister Modi's itinerary includes a visit to the historic Palacio San Martin on Friday, located at 761 Arenales Street in the Retiro neighborhood of Buenos Aires.
This site, opposite Plaza San Martin, is named in honor of Jose de San Martin, Argentina’s national hero and a key figure in the independence of Argentina, Chile, and Peru.
On Friday, Prime Minister Modi is also set to meet with President Javier Milei at the Casa Rosada, the Presidential Palace.
The Casa Rosada serves as the official workplace of the Argentine President and is the nucleus of the federal government's administrative functions, rich in political and historical significance.
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will visit the Estadio Alberto J. Armando stadium on Friday evening. Known for its passionate football culture, the stadium is home to Club Atletico Boca Juniors and stands as one of the most iconic sports venues in South America, reflecting Argentina's vibrant football heritage.
This visit marks Prime Minister Modi's arrival in Argentina, the third stop on his five-nation tour following successful visits to Trinidad and Tobago and Ghana.
He will engage in bilateral discussions with President Milei to assess current cooperation and explore avenues to enhance the India-Argentina partnership across critical sectors, including defense, agriculture, mining, oil and gas, renewable energy, trade, investment, and cultural exchanges.
