New Delhi, July 6 (NationPress) Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai became emotional as he reminisced about achieving his father's dream of becoming a judge. During a recent event in Maharashtra, he emphasized the advantages of receiving education in his Marathi mother tongue, asserting it significantly contributed to his conceptual clarity.
Holding back tears, the CJI expressed his joy at fulfilling his father’s wish, stating, “I am delighted that my father's aspiration for me to become a judge has materialized.”
As the first Buddhist to hold this esteemed position, he fondly recalled his father's influence and his early career in law during the 161st anniversary of the Advocates Association of Western India (AAWI), an organization he joined back in 1983.
On his visit to Chikitsak Samuh Shirodkar School in Girgaon, where he completed his primary and secondary education, he expressed heartfelt gratitude towards his teachers who played pivotal roles in shaping his early life.
While at the school, Chief Justice Gavai remarked, “The heights I have reached today are largely due to the influence of my teachers and this school. The education and values I acquired here directed my life’s path.”
Reflecting on his formative years, he shared, “My journey in public speaking began right here. Participating in speech contests and cultural events helped me build confidence. Those experiences are integral to who I am today.”
