Hyderabad, July 4 (NationPress) Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of Telangana declared on Friday that he is committed to securing 100 Assembly seats for the Congress party in the upcoming elections.

He further stated that if Congress falls short of achieving this target, even by a single seat, he will take full responsibility.

With a strong belief that Congress will reclaim government in the state, he forecasted victories of 100 Assembly and 15 Lok Sabha seats.

This announcement was made during a gathering of Congress grassroots workers at the LB Stadium in Hyderabad.

AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and other prominent leaders addressed attendees, which included party heads from the village, mandal, and district levels.

Revanth Reddy expressed ambitions to boost the number of Assembly seats to 150, with a goal of electing 60 women leaders as legislators through the implementation of women’s reservation.

Currently, Telangana is represented by 119 MLAs and 17 Lok Sabha members. In the previous Assembly elections of 2023, Congress secured 64 seats, and in 2024, it won eight Lok Sabha seats.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the Congress party had successfully challenged the BRS and ended the KCR family’s dominance, paving the way for better governance.

He answered critics who suggested that the Congress government would falter due to disunity and failure to implement welfare programs. “All party members unitedly worked and swiftly executed our commitments,” he affirmed.

He claimed that within 18 months, the Congress government showcased the Telangana model to the nation, conducting a caste survey and sub-categorizing Scheduled Castes as promised by Rahul Gandhi.

In urging party members to intensify efforts and engage in a social media campaign against BRS before local body elections, the CM assured that Congress leadership would deliver party tickets directly, negating the need for lobbying in Delhi for the next elections. “Our party workers are our brand ambassadors, and it is vital for all leaders to focus on winning local body elections,” he stated.

The CM challenged BRS and BJP to debate on farmers’ welfare, inviting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, and former CM K Chandrashekhar Rao to the discussion. Despite financial constraints, he asserted that the government is fulfilling promises and implementing programs to establish Telangana as a national role model.

“In just 18 months, our government introduced Rythu Bharosa, a bonus for quality paddy, and a waiver for farmer loans, making Telangana the leading state in paddy production,” he elaborated.

He highlighted the government’s achievement of providing Rs 9,000 crore in Rythu Bandhu benefits to all farmers in merely nine days.

Revanth Reddy further noted that his administration has filled over 60,000 government job vacancies and challenged KCR and Kishan Reddy to contest his claims. “Should they prove me wrong, I am ready to apologize,” he stated.

He asserted that the state government attracted Rs 3 lakh crore in investments within 18 months.
